by María Olaondo (jump to English version)

Anestesia o dolor. Ignorancia o sabiduría. Compañía o soledad.

English version:

The failure of our daydreams
Our mistaken hopes
The slow passing of time
Our ephemeral passions
The enigmatic essence of life
Both shallow and deep
That wraps around us
When we are warm
And strips us down
When we are cold
That fills us up with yearning
While we evoke moments in which we were
Now that we are not
With doubt and angst
For not knowing how to approach it

We were thrown into this world
How long will we stay
What summits shall we reach
We have not been told.

Birds cannot fly eternally. Dreams can. But they will be just that: ideas, images, aspirations… illusory. The dream requires action to break into reality.

Two roads open before us: to our left, a reality built on a fallacy; to our right, a path in search for truth. Numbness or pain. Ignorance or wisdom. Companionship or loneliness.
